ok

i finished the gifts, and i think that, because they are gifts for dogs, they are really cool. i have never given a gift to a dog before. most people (leslie) would say "dog's do NOT need gifts. they are animals." and i get that. but i still want to give them these gifts. i worked hard. they came out just fine, but because they are gifts for dogs... to me they are exceptional. i wish i had my own dog to give one of these too.

on this thursday

Karen and I are in the process of putting together some Christmas presents for our clients and their pets. For the pets: dog treats and christmas toys! For the clients: pictures of their pets! How can you go wrong? Both have to love their present. This is Sophie, a 12 year old golden. Also part time model. She is here to fix her hip.

This weekend happened to be a very crafty weekend. I was inspired by Design Sponge to crackle my snap. I have this desk that Josh and I picked up from the side of the road, and decided to give it a little beauty. It was quite a process, but it turned out better than I expected!

So yes... we did an outfit change. It was necessary. I wasn't planning it, but pretty much everyone told us that we needed to have a little variety. It definitely added some spice. Spice delight.

Josh and I went with Mark Skovorodko to the Douglas Family Preserve to take pictures. Mark was great. He just let us hang out and took pictures of us doing our thing. Plus, there were dogs everywhere. I was in absolute heaven.

Soap Notes

I am currently writing notes on the patients i had today and decided to do one for myself... to critique both my physical and mental state.

S(subjective): fingertips feeling rather cold. really needs a nap.
O(objective): looks good in her black stretchy pants and matching hydropaws jacket.
A(assessment): tolerating the day well. came up lame in conversation with the client. really need to work on talking like a regular human being.
P(plan): i have none. as of yet.

Future Hubby (FH)

After long deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer refer to Josh as "Joshie Pants", "Little Joshie", or "Josh-ua" on this blog, because people who read it will not hear the simple sarcasm i throw into his nick-names. It is really scary how seriously people could take me when just reading my thoughts! So i decided to shorten it- Future Hubby or FH if im feeling really lazy. It works for the time being. He is the future hubby for right now. Plus there are so other things that FH stands for that just work. For example, "Full House" is FH, and my young teen years were spent drooling over uncle jesse. Its perfect! It also stand for "Factor H" which is a complement control protein. Let's be honest... if you know Josh, you know that he knows his proteins. It can also stand for "French Horn" which, if you knew me back in 5th grade, you knew that my favorite instrument was the french horn. I think it was the look of it that got me. All in all, FH just works for both Josh and me. It has been fabricated into our lives.

only the best job ever

For those of you who are wondering what I have been up to in Santa Barbara for the last couple of months, I am proud to introduce you to a totally crazy idea for a job that turned out to be my calling. I work at a place called Hydropaws which is an animal rehabilitation faciltiy. I work with dogs to help them recover from injury or surgery. It is not only therapeutic for them, but for me as well. I am counting down the days till my dear little Joshie hands me a puppy of my very own. (he is the rational one so he won't let us get one til we are ready. if it were up to me, i would already have one.) This is little Josie. She had spinal problems and was paralyzed but because of her therapy, she is walking again!

the bearers of rings and flowers

Last week, I made some cards to ask my ring bearer and flower girl to be in our wedding. I thought it would be cute if they got some mail from me and it would make it more formal and exciting for them. Kimberly is my flower girl. She is my first grade teacher's daughter and has the coolest name ever. I have watched her grow up into a beautiful little girl. Ethan is my little man that I babysat from a young age. I think I babysat him for at least the last... 5 years and got to watch him grow up too. He has such a good heart and is such a good little guy! I am so excited to send them these cards.

Pot

I have found my calling. Its in ceramics. I am a potter. I love pots. Well so far i haven't even made a pot. I made a cup and a bowl. but if you combine them, it kinda makes a pot. Therefore, I am a potter.

Graduation is just around the corner. I am almost done with school. What do I fill my time with now? I don't know anything else.

Minnie Soda

Josh, my love nugget, says that this break he fell back in love with Minnesota. (He grew up in Cloquet. Nobody really knows where that is) While 30 below can be a troublesome temperature, I have to admit that I think minnie soda is beautiful. Its absolutely gorgeous all summer long and resembles a giant frozen crystal for the rest of the year. In which case, I would need to bundle. I do believe I was made to bundle. There is no need to bundle in Santa Barbara, but i have all these bundle-y clothes and no where to wear them. But, if I actually faced the prospect of surviving anywhere with real cold for more than just a vacation, would I survive?

Can't Fathom

Im not quite sure why i need a blog. Maybe it will help me become a more interesting person. At the very least it will document my my attempt to be a responsible person and get a real job and support myself. If you talk to my dad, he doesn't think its possible. I don't really either, but I have to do it any way. Otherwise, how am I supposed to pay back these ridiculous college loans?
