After hours of sanding, I painted a base coat of a dark gray-blue color and let that dry overnight. I was a little worried because when I woke up this morning, I thought it was "too blue". You know what I mean... the color that reminds you of baby boys. I did not want that kind of desk!
Later in the afternoon, I got to cracklin. I painted all the areas I wanted to crackle with the crackle glaze. Then I let that dry for two hours. (During the time I waited, I completed my second craft. I think I was overproductive). After this, I added the lighter top coat. This had to be done with care. You seriously cannot go back over the area you already painted or it will get gloppy. You get one chance to cover the area with paint, so get it right.
I also bought some really cute handles for the drawer and door. Best choice ever.
My second project consisted of a drawing for Erin's birthday (shhhh... I haven't given it to her yet). She saw these trees that I did for my house and loved them. So in the spirit of giving food as a gift, I drew her some carrots (her fav). Hopefully it will make her happy.
