my grand idea

So Josh and I just got back from our honeymoon (swam with sea turtles and rare monk seals... no big) and i was struck with an idea of pure genius. Josh and I used a book to take us to all the best food spots and private beaches and awesome snorkeling sites, and I thought how cool it would be to compile something like this for Santa Barbara. People vacation here all the time, and lucky for them, Josh and I love eating good food and finding the next best activity to do in SB! Ok maybe only the food part is really true.
While I do have this grand idea, i do NOT have delusions of grandeur. I can see how publishing a book would be a bit tricky, so I will just start with posting some cool places to visit when ever you hit the town of the beautiful saint barb.

My first item of interest is obviously dessert. While The Palace Grill may not have my favorite cajun cuisine, they do have the best chocolate souffle that you will ever taste. It has a bourbon cream sauce and is actually a good portion size to share with a friend. It ends up being about $10 if you are nice with the tip. If you go on a Friday, the magician will be there. Located off of State Street on E. Cota.

we finally did it.

And I have a whole bunch of extra jars if anyone is really into canning.

disclaimer: new post actually written BY ME coming soon

I have been working on a bunch of wedding stuff... which may account for my free time being sucked up and no time to blog. But I have some really great pictures of cool stuff I made. Fun.

For now, read THIS. I got chills for a second thinking they were talking about my wedding. I am currently racking my brain for someone on the guestlist that is getting married soon too... still can't think of anyone.

only 22 more days til we are man and wife. man and wife!

C'est Cheese

Josh found the most wonderful place for lunch. I hope there is cheese in heaven. I had a grilled cheese for lunch today that made my tongue and tummy extremely happy. If you even somewhat like cheese, please go here. Its on Santa Barbara and Canon Perdido across from Panino.

craft smorgasbord

Our wedding is going to be a crazy ensemble of all kinds of different diy nick-nacks if I don't get some control here soon. I found this site today and went a little nutso. I'm going to get in way over my head if I commit to anymore things to make for ourwedding.

oh... hi!

Ojai is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever visited. Josh and I went two weekends in a row (once for his birthday and the next for our dating anniversary... we find any reason to celebrate). The second weekend we went, I took my NEW CAMERA (how do you think I got such good pictures of the dogs?) and was able to take pictures of a storm coming over Lake Casitas. Definitely visit Ojai if you have the chance, even if it is raining.
